Hello Everybody! My name is Antonis and Im from Heraclion of Crete in Greece. I created this blog to show the progress of the restoration I plan to do on the aprilia futura 125, model 1991 that I own.
This bike came to my possesion back in 1995. It was a used import from Italy with low mileage on it and in pretty good shape. It was factory painted as the Loris Reggiani racing bike of 1991 with purple-green-silver-red color combination and the infamous aprilia trademarked fuel tank with the black and white stripes.

This bike was sitting for a very long time at my workplace. It had an electric problem with the RAVE valve
control unit along with a no-good polini kit of 154cc which was definately didnt worth the money.

My intention plans for the restoration are:

a) Restore the bike to 125cc.
b) Reduce the weight of the bike as much as possible by extensive use of carbon fiber which Im going
to produce myself. I do not intend to sacrifice lighting and instruments for the sake of weight reduction
because I want this bike to be still legit for road use and I also really like the design of the headlight and instruments.
c) Keep the factory look as much as possible although try making the bike looking more like the racing bike
of the picture. I will definately keep the colour theme.
d) Reverse the engine's cylinder (not yet sure if this is doable..) and make a new exhaust cone and silencer that
going to go through the tail.

So aprilia bikers stay tuned, this is going to take some time...!
